My hairstylist recommended this hair dryer–it is the one she uses on my hair at the salon. My hair always looks better after she styles it–and I use the same shampoo and brush that she does–that meant it was time to invest in the dryer. The dryer is pretty quiet and light. Seems like it is made well enough–must be since my stylist has been using it everyday (multiple times) for more than 3 years. I looked at upgrading since there are newer CHI’s out there–but this one was cheaper and I knew for sure that it would do a good job. I don’t regret not getting one of their fancier more powerful models–I’m not trying to fry my hair, just dry and shape it. After my other professional hairdryer died (did a good job–but got crushed in an accident), I began using a $20 cheapie–what a mistake. When people tell you that all hairdryers are the same, it is because they don’t really know. My research has indicated that CHI is only brand on the market with full ceramic components–not just ceramic coated. I really didn’t want to spend all this money–but my hair actually looks much better and others have noticed. I would recommend this dryer–it was worth the price to me.
I thought $80 was a lot to spend on a dryer, but after reading other reviews I thought maybe it would be worth it. And it is! The dryer is lightweight and super quiet. I didn’t have any problems with the attachments either. The best part is that my hair doesn’t look like I dried it with a flame-thrower. It’s shiny and soft with no friz and my hair is rather wavy and thick, plus is regularly colored. I’d definitely suggest you buy this!

I own other EatSmart products so I bought this scale with confidence. Its a no-frills bathroom scale with one user that is accurate and easy to use.
Operating is easy. You tap the glass to wake the scale up and step on….no wasted time setting up users (which my last scale had) or programming weight loss goals. The scale reads out to the nearest .2 pounds, which is a nice feature when you are trying to gain confidence and hit short term weight loss goals (every little bit counts to me). More importantly its CONSISTANT, which means I get the same reading every time I step on and off the scale. Nothing was more infuriating than weighing myself, stepping off, re-weighing myself and seeing a completely different number (by as much as 5 lbs!). EatSmart seems to have solved this problem quite nicely.
Style-wise I have no complaints….the glass top is much better looking than the stainless steel I have previously and it doesn’t make nearly as much noise when stepped on. The thinner profile also keeps me low to the ground so I worry less about slippage after a shower (plus with the larger LCD I’m not hunched over to read it).
A must have investment for anyone looking to lose weight.

For months I made ‘do’ with my $40 straightener trying to convince myself that it would be enough. I would see other women with perfect hair to find out they used a CHI. Everyone would say “A C-H-I…! ooohhhh Like it was something to worship. Well gals…It is the Mercedes Benz of hair straighteners. I am chanting CHI! CHI! CHI! everywhere I go.
I have thick, wavy hair and it only took about 10 mins to iron it flat. It feels silky smooth too! and is so shiny! My $40 cheapie made it feel like straw. I know the high price may stop many women from buying it. But I swear, you HAVE to buy a CHI, if you are as fussy about your hair as I am, its a dream come true. Finally; we puffy, thick and wavy haired gals can have it all.
It heats up fast and does not burn or singe the hair at all..but rather glides through my hair. I didn’t experiencing it being overly hot either. Just perfect in every way.

FINALLY, A FLAT IRON THAT WORKS GREAT, February 9, 2006
This is my 4th flat iron that I purchased in the last 2 years. Until I bought this one, I always thought that I wasn’t using the iron correctly. This one is the last I’ll ever have to buy. I can’t believe that after I’m finished ironing my hair it looks like I had it done at the salon. It’s always shiny and silky and looks healthy. This iron is very easy to use too. It’s light weight and easy to control. Ladies… it’s well worth the money. I have spent so much money previously on flat irons, and they turned out to be a waste of money. This one is the only one you’ll have to buy. Treat yourself…… buy it. Just as an added note…. my hair is sooo frizzy, curly and course, so for this to work as well as it does on my hair, it’s got to be great flat iron.

Excellent Pedometer – Great software – Get motivated!, January 12, 2008
I have not used pedometers much, but really like this unit for a number of reasons. First, it is quite compact and can comfortably fit in a pocket and not feel bulky (you can wear with a clip too or hang it from a cord off a belt). Second, it really seems to accurately count steps. I tried it a few times by counting 50 or 100 steps with the unit in my pocket and it seems to be right on target as a step counter. To measure distance, I walked a 100 feet a couple of times to set my stride. With the stride in place, the distance measure seems pretty accurate. I walked a known distance (about a mile and a half) and then looked at both the step count and distance. The distance was a little short, which meant I needed to make a slight adjustment to the value of the stride. I made the same walk again and got the calculated distance was exactly on target.
Conclusion: This is an accurate pedometer in terms of counting steps and estimating distance.
I also really like the software. You simply attach the pedometer to your computer (I have a a PC with XP) and the data then download. You can look at your total number of steps by day (or hour within the day), the number of steps at an aerobic rate (defined as part of walking ten minutes or more at a stretch), and distance walked. There are also estimates of calories burned and grams of fat lost, based on you weight and age — I have no idea if these are accurate. As a nice feature, you can look at all statistics by day, week, or month.
The software is very easy to use and as bonus also interfaces with some of Omron’s blood pressure units.
I have really enjoyed using this pedometer in that I can slip it into my pocket in the morning (and am glad it doesn’t take up much room) and then look at my step count for the day. I have given myself a daily target (10000 steps) and am now finding myself doing more things to get in extra steps each day — parking further from my destination, walking a bit further to pick up for lunch, or just treating myself to a 10-15 minute walk during my workday. These things add up and now I have a sense of what all I need to do during the day to reach my step goal.
You pay a bit extra (not that much) for a pedometer with many features, including the software. I suppose you could save a few dollars by not getting a version with the software, but for me, being able to easily track progress is one of the best things about this pedometer (can also print out reports, output data to a spreadsheet if you want). It seems to be worth a bit more to have this sort of tracking (though I do wish they had sotware for Macintosh computers!).

I’ve always prided myself on my good teeth. I thought that flossing and brushing was enough…that was until I went to the dentist, and he said I had the beginnings of periodontal disease. That scared the hell out of me.
I went home and started using the Sonicare I had bought but never plugged in. That was good, but not enough – I bought a Waterpik because obviously flossing wasn’t cutting it.
I had never used a Waterpik before, and it was some revelation! I’m still amazed that there are some Waterpik oldtimers who say this machine isn’t strong enough…uh, for what? Peeling paint off a brick wall? This thing absolutely knocked my socks off when it came to the PRESSURE.
I started out at 2 and worked my way up to 7 – it still stings like mad, but I’m getting used to it by now. I put Listerine in the tank to increase the anti-bacteria result.
My dentist went on vacation, and I had to cancel another appointment, so it happened that almost two months had elapsed since the last time I had seen him. In that time, I faithfully brushed with the Sonicare four times a day and used the Waterpik at least once (several tankfuls of water and Listerine worth.)
Regarding the leaking people talk about – the only time the tank leaks, I notice, is if I put my fingers on the seal when I’m refilling it. If I’m careful to keep my fingers away from that seal, the tank is water tight.
So when I returned for my check-up, the dentist was AMAZED. He wasn’t sure what I had done, but he said my gums looked pink and healthy! He had said initially I’d have to get my teeth cleaned every three months because I must be one of those people who gets a tartar build up quicker than other people…well, I had worked religiously on scaling back the plaque. (I had also bought a dental mirror so I could check the back of my front teeth for telltale plaque residue.)
Hmmm, no comment about that plaque…was it because there WASN’T any? My dentist asked me if I had been eating because there was so little build up (I had to tear that out of him because I KNEW he didn’t want to give me credit for working that hard on my dental hygiene!)
The dentist HADN’T recommended a Waterpik, but I knew I had to go to the extreme to beat back the periodontal enemy. My teeth are so clean, they squeak!

I just bought the 32GB 3rd generation iPod Touch and it’s truly an amazing gadget! I was upgrading myself from a shuffle and was holding out until the 3rd generation of Touches was released. I am a working mother with two children under 5 and don’t have time to listen to music (except for the radio in the car) or read or even be organized. I need a personal assistant! Enter the iPod Touch! It’s a mini computer that is helping me stay connected to the web via free wifi with an amazing array of productivity and lifestyle apps to make my life better.
Within 3 minutes of opening up the package, I was connected to iTunes, the device recognized my wireless connection at home and I was surfing the web at lightening speed (much faster than my laptop). The fact that there is no learning curve is remarkable. Many of the apps seem to work better on the Touch than they do on a regular computer screen. A couple of clicks and screens and you are all set up and on your way!
